Children work with clay with Louise Block

by | May 23, 2014 | News

The children recently worked with artist/designer Louise Block to create faces out of clay. The children experienced rolling, patting, moulding, cutting and ‘gluing’ the clay using their hands and various utensils.  Louise then took their masterpieces away to fire them in her kiln.  As it was such beautiful weather on the last day of Louise’s visit, she took red clay into the garden.  The children were able to work together to produce and decorate a pot.

Louise works mainly with glass and ceramics and her work  is divided between gallery and commission work, a glass jewellery business and teaching in school groups and community organisations.
